It might be around time to start changing that profile picture, huh? Perhaps it was something you chose on a whim just to upload a picture and now that you\u2019re thinking to start taking your channel more seriously you\u2019re not quite sure how to change a YouTube profile picture. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s really quite simple and you\u2019ll be done with it in no time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

For those interested in starting a YouTube channel and monetizing it in the future it is definitely something to consider. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

While often overlooked, a profile picture is a crucial part to building an online presence and expanding your following. After your name it is the brand that defines you to your viewers and what offers a part of their first impression of you. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Many YouTubers nowadays are instantly recognized through their profile pictures, sometimes even over their names. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s especially important if you aren\u2019t planning on showing your face online and what becomes famous is the only visual your audience has of you. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The steps<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

For desktop here are the steps: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Go to the YouTube page and click on your profile in the top right corner.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Select View your channel <\/strong>and click again on the enlarged version of your profile picture in the middle of the screen.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. You\u2019ll have two options to choose from named Banner image <\/strong>and Picture<\/strong>, to the right of Picture <\/strong>click Upload<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Pick a photo from your files and upload it.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. In the top right corner below your profile picture, press Publish<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  6. And then you can press View channel <\/strong>to see how it looks and maybe go back to adjust the picture.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    On Mobile it\u2019s slightly different: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    1. On the YouTube app click on your profile in the top right corner.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    2. Select Your channel <\/strong>and then the little pen icon.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    3. Click again on your profile picture and you can select a photo from your photo library.\n

      1. You can also take a photo and use that, but why would you do that?<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      2. Hit Save <\/strong>and you\u2019re all done.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

        It might take a few moments to sync, but it\u2019ll show up as a changed profile. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

        For an optimal image YouTube suggests using at least 98 x 98<\/strong> pixels and 4MB<\/strong> or less for the size of your YouTube profile picture. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

        It\u2019s not so hard to learn how to change your YouTube profile picture, and also isn\u2019t very hard to begin learning how to start a YouTube channel<\/a> and begin creating content for it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
