Usage policy

Please check out Typecast's usage policy! Please read the following license guideline before using our service.

Prohibited Uses

You may not use our services to create, distribute, or promote content that includes or promotes any of the following:

  1. Sexual Content
    • Sexually Explicit Content: Any content that includes or promotes sexually explicit material, especially involving minors or non-consensual acts, is strictly prohibited.
    • Adult Services or Products: This includes, but is not limited to, using AI-generated voices in connection with pornography, adult chat rooms, sex shops, escort services, or sexually suggestive content.
    • Inappropriate Sexual Contexts: Content that sexualizes or promotes immoral sexual behavior, relationships, or interactions is not allowed.
  2. Violent and Harmful Content
    • Violence and Threats: Content that threatens or promotes violence, harm, or physical injury toward individuals, groups, or animals.
    • Hate Speech and Discrimination: Content that incites or promotes hate, harassment, or violence based on race, religion, ethnicity, nationality, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or any other protected characteristic.
    • Harassment: Using AI-generated voices to harass, bully, or stalk individuals, or to create content that humiliates, mocks, or threatens any other person or entity.
  3. Political and Misinformation
    • Political Ads: Use of our services for political advertisements, campaign materials, or any form of political messaging is prohibited unless express written permission is granted.
    • Election Misinformation: Content that spreads misinformation about voting processes, eligibility, candidates or their family members, or election outcomes, including disinformation campaigns intended to interfere with democratic processes.
    • Impersonation of Political Figures: Unauthorized use of voice models to impersonate political candidates, elected officials, or government representatives, or any of their family members, in a way that is misleading or intended to deceive.
  4. Fraud, Deception, and Impersonation
    • Fraudulent Content: Any content designed or intended to deceive or manipulate others for personal gain, including financial scams, identity theft, or impersonation.
    • Impersonation of Individuals or Entities: Unauthorized use of a person’s identity, voice, or likeness for non-satirical, malicious, or commercial purposes without their consent.
    • Deceptive Content: Content that is designed to mislead users or the general public, especially in sensitive areas such as health, finance, and public safety.
  5. Child Safety and Exploitation
    • Sexualized Content Involving Minors: This includes any content that sexualizes or exploits minors, promotes child sexual abuse, or engages in grooming behaviors.
    • Age-Inappropriate Content: Content targeting minors that involves sexual themes, graphic violence, or other material not suitable for children.
  6. Illegal or Harmful Activities
    • Intellectual Property Infringement: Content that infringes upon or misappropriates the intellectual property rights of others, including the unauthorized use of copyrighted materials, trademarks, or trade secrets.
    • Privacy Violations: Unauthorized use of personal information, such as names, likenesses, or voices, that violate privacy laws.
    • Illegal Goods and Services: Promoting or facilitating transactions involving illegal substances, weapons, or other illicit goods, as well as services like human trafficking or exploitation.
    • Unlawful Use of Voices: Using AI-generated voices in connection with activities that are illegal under local, national, or international law, including in jurisdictions where voice cloning is restricted.
  7. Dangerous or Sensitive Uses
    • Health and Medical Misinformation: Content that denies the existence of specific health conditions or promotes harmful medical advice, self-harm, or dangerous behaviors (e.g., eating disorders, suicide).
    • Self-Harm and Suicide: Content that glorifies, promotes, or encourages self-harm, suicide, or other forms of personal injury.
    • Violent Extremism and Terrorism: Content that incites or glorifies terrorism, extremism, or violent actions against individuals or groups.
  8. Commercial Exploitation without Authorization
    • Unauthorized Commercial Use: Selling, reselling, leasing, lending, renting or distributing audio generated from our services without proper authorization, including using generated voices as isolated files or sound libraries.
    • Competing Products: Using any audio or part of the services to develop products, models, or services that compete with our offerings.
  9. Enforcement
    • Violations of these prohibitions will lead to immediate content removal, account suspension, and potentially legal action.
    • For serious violations involving real-world harm, we will notify and cooperate with law enforcement authorities where necessary.

Licensing and Ownership

  1. License to Use: You are granted a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the audio content generated through our services for personal or commercial purposes, provided that all use complies with this Policy.
  2. Voice Actor Rights: Voice actors retain ownership of their voice models. Unauthorized replication, distribution, or alteration of a voice without permission is strictly prohibited.
  3. Modifications & Alterations: Generated audio may not be altered to misrepresent the voice actor or be used for content they have not approved. Any unauthorized modification or misuse is subject to immediate suspension and legal consequences.

Voice Usage Guidelines

  1. Download and Use: Generated audio can be downloaded and used for personal or commercial purposes solely during your subscription period. After expiration, you may continue using previously downloaded audio, but no new modifications or downloads can be made unless your subscription is extended.
  2. Content Restrictions: Content generated for commercial sale follows the same guidelines. However, separate branches or companies must each have their own subscriptions to ensure compliance.

Voice Actor Protections

  1. Upfront Consent: We prioritize voice actors' concerns by ensuring that every voice actor whose voice model is available on the platform has explicitly agreed to the use cases for their voice.
  2. Misuse: If any content is found to misuse or harm a voice actor's reputation, it will be subject to removal, and legal action may be pursued.

Investigations

The Company may, but is not obligated to, monitor or review Services and content generated on it at any time. Without limiting the foregoing, the Company shall have the right, in its sole discretion, to remove any of content you generate for any reason (or no reason), including if such content violates this Usage Policy, our Terms of Use or any applicable law. Although the Company does not generally monitor user activity occurring in connection with Services or any user generated content, if the Company becomes aware of any possible violations by you of any provision of this Usage Policy or its Terms of Use, the Company reserves the right to investigate such violations, and the Company may, at its sole discretion, immediately terminate your license to use Services, or change, alter or remove any content you have generated with the aid of the Services, in whole or in part, without prior notice to you.

Separate Agreements

Additional agreements are required for:

  1. API services
  2. Custom voice generation and audio recovery services
  3. Integration into automated systems or content creation programs
